A primary school in Bacup has announced its closure today.
According to the council website, St Mary’s Roman Catholic Primary School, on Tong Lane is closed due to issues with blocked drains and a lack of staff toilets.
It is closed to all pupils, from nursery age to year six.
The school has apologised for the inconvenience and has promised to update pupils and parents about reopening, in due course.
A school spokesperson said: “Due to an unavoidable issue with the drainage systems, St Mary's will be closed for today to all pupils.
“We are very sorry for the inconvenience and we will update you with information about re-opening in due course.
“Thank you for your cooperation.”
