The activities will include guided trail runs and hikes, outdoor watercolour painting, yoga and breathwork, marshmallow toasting, outdoor storytelling and puppetry, and foraging.

There will also be entertainment from performing artists, a brass band and a giant bubble show.

The funding for this year’s festival is covered but the charity is seeking support from business sponsorship to enable the event to grow over the next three years.

The Sunnywood Project’s education director Marc Young said: “We’re incredibly excited to be in a position to provide such a huge range of fun outdoor activities for our community and have our first ever festival where we hope many will embrace the heritage and everything the Burrs Country Park has to offer.

“We’re very grateful to the National Lottery players for making this year’s event possible and have our fingers crossed that we can access the right funding and sponsorship to enable this idea to grow and return even bigger in 2025!”
