Blackburn Cathedral extension being built
This great photograph shows the extension of Blackburn Cathedral underway.
We don’t have a date when this picture was taken but we presume it was in the early 1950s when the bulk of the redevelopment work was taking place although we stand to be corrected.
The statue of Queen Victoria looks over the Boulevard and an extremely impressive bus shelter.
Look how the new structure stands out, it's positively gleaming in the sunshine.
