A new exhibition to celebrate businesses is heading to Rossendale in June.

Rossendale Means Business, RMB, takes on place Tuesday, June 11, at The Whitaker Museum and Art Gallery in Rawtenstall.

The event is being organised by Digital Marketing Agency GrowTraffic in collaboration with Rossendale Borough Council and business advisor Jane Pallister from Boommm Consultancy.

GrowTraffic Executive Erin Dempsey said: “This has come about because many of us have been to other Lancashire Expos and they are usually in larger areas and we felt that small and medium-sized businesses can be overlooked.

“I am a Rossendale girl and want to support Rossendale businesses and help them to grow and we decided the way to do it was to hold our own event.”

The business fair will feature 60 stalls in The Whitaker with firms such as Farley’s Solicitors, Bacup Borough Football Club, SpiritSmith, Rossendale Valley Energy, TCHL Interiors and Theo Technologies already having confirmed.

It is £100 to exhibit and there are only two stalls permitted from each business sector.

Live entertainment will be provided courtesy of Erin, who is a singer and runs Hyde Artists.

The event’s platinum sponsor is WHN Solicitors which will be delivering the first seminar.

Jane Pallister has been a business advisor for many years and moved to Rossendale nearly two years ago.

She has held several free business workshops for Rossendale Council and works closely with the council’s Business Advisor Tariq Ali who is also helping to organise the Expo.

Jane said: “This event is very much focused on businesses that are based in the Valley.

"We have had interest from outside of Rossendale but we have said no as we want to keep this event just for local businesses.

“We want it to be a showcase for the whole Valley, so we will also be promoting its heritage, food and events.”
