Fans of This Morning had a treat on today's show (Tuesday, April 16) as they couldn't get enough of Ian McKellan's reactions to a cute dog he was sat with whilst being interviewed.

The Burnley-born acting legend, 84, was chatting with Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley about his latest stage production, The Player Kings.

Whilst on the sofa he was sat with Buddy the Dog, who had been introduced at the start of the show and is being trained to work with children with autism.

After a brief start to the interview, he joked to the presenters "I can't be bothered talking to you" due to Buddy cuddling up to him.

Afterwards, he said: "I've often lived with dogs but I live on my own [now] so I can't have a dog really."

Later on in the interview, he got distracted again, saying: "Oh baby boy, do you want to come and be in the play with me?"
