A woman returned home to find her ex-partner in her bedroom despite a restraining order which banned him from attending her property.

Blackburn Magistrates' Court heard as a result of the breach Callum Parkinson had been recalled to prison until November.

Parkinson, 24, of Barker House Road, Nelson, pleaded guilty to breach of a restraining order.

He was jailed for four months which will run alongside his prison recall.

Carl Gaffney, prosecuting, said the restraining order was made at the Crown Court for five years.

“He is not prohibited from contacting her but he is not allowed to attend her home,” said Mr Gaffney.

“It aims to give her a safe place.”

Janet Sime, in mitigation, said there had been ongoing contact between the parties and she had invited him around to her address, although not on this occasion.

“Obviously if you get home and someone is in your bedroom it is going to be alarming,” said Miss Sime.

“He knows that whether he is invited or not he can’t go to that address."
