The body of a man in his 50s has been found after police were called to a concern for welfare.

Lancashire Police confirmed the body of a man had been found in a wooded area in Turton just before 10pm last night (Sunday, April 14).

The man was believed to have been found in a wooded area near The Barlow in Edgworth.

Lancashire Police said: “We were called to a concern for welfare in a wooded area of Turton at around 9:45pm last night.

“Very sadly, the body of a man in his 50s was found. Our thoughts are with his loved ones at this distressing time.

“His death is being treated as non-suspicious, and a file will be passed to the coroner in due course.”
