Family favourites will be heading to East Lancs Railway this May bank holiday for a day full of fun and adventure.

Thomas the Tank Engine and Harry Potter and his wizarding friends will be two of the most popular attractions to come to the station in May.

Aspiring witches and wizards can sharpen up their sorcery skills and unravel mysteries on the 90-minute wacky whistle-stop tour.

This enchanting experience is one for all of the family, with a secret mission of utmost importance for younger masters of magic to enjoy.

Food and drink will be available from the café on Platform 3/4 at Bury Bolton Street Station.

The wizarding adventure will be on May 19 and May 30.

Thomas will be at Bury Bolton Street Station from May 4 to May 6 and the day will start where children will have the chance to meet Sir Topham Hatt before being introduced to Thomas.

Families can then hop on board one of the heritage carriages which will be pulled by the famous blue steam locomotive.

Thomas will then pull the train through the picturesque Greater Manchester countryside on a fun-filled journey to Ramsbottom station.

Onboard, families will be transported back to Bury Bolton Street, where the doors to Bury Transport Museum will open to a whole host of fun activities.

There will be stories, Thomas-themed activities and amusing performances by Rusty and Dusty, the mischievous station sweepers.

There will also be a fun fair, face painting and balloon art.

Prices will start at £13.70 for kids and £22.70 for adults and can be booked by visiting the ELR website
