The Mayor of Blackburn with Darwen has shared an Eid message with residents.
Cllr Parwaiz Akhtar posted a video message ahead of the festival which marks the end of Ramadan.
Eid ul Fitr, one of two major holidays celebrated by Muslims around the world, will be celebrated today (Wednesday).
Cllr Akhtar said: "Eid is a special occasion for me and so many of our residents. But before we get to celebrate, we of course observe the holy month of Ramadan.
"As always so many in our community not only enjoy iftar together in the evenings but have also contributed by hosting iftars for the needy and also invited non-Muslim friends to participate with us.
"It’s these moments of togetherness that makes me proud to be part of the community in Blackburn with Darwen.”
