Four East Lancashire businesses have emerged victorious at the English Hair and Beauty Awards.

Creative Oceanic, powered by Oceanic Awards, announced the winners earlier this month and Blackburn, Burnley and Nelson are among the best in the north west.

For 12 years, the awards have celebrated the stylists and salons from across England that represent excellence in the hair and beauty industry.

Samantha Rose Skin and Laser in Blackburn, Bliss Hair and Beauty in Burnley, Betty-Rose Beauty Boutique in Nelson, and Hard as Nails in Burnley, came home with one or more awards.

Samantha Rose, 35, is the owner of Samantha Rose Skin and Laser. The business won best aesthetics clinic of the year.

The Blackburn woman said: “It feels amazing. We have been established for seven years but I have transformed the business over the last three. We used to offer hair and beauty and now we offer aesthetics.

“We were up against highly commended aesthetics clinics that have been around for a lot longer than us.

“We are the only Blackburn business to have been won and I am lost for words about this.

“It’s a huge recognition for our business.

“We only invest in the best machine and products. Every machine we have is the most advanced on the market.

“We also have a great relationship with clients. They are the ones that have made this possible and kept us busy.”

Rachel, 42, said: “I am absolutely stunned and over the moon. My jaw dropped when they announced Betty-Rose Beauty Boutique as the winner”.

Rachel, who was commissioned to produce nails for the Eurovision TV advert for the BBC last year, said her personable nature might have secured the business the win.

She said: ”I think being down to earth, welcoming, driven, ambitious, always keeping up-to-date with current trends is the reason for the win.”

The boutique also offers toenail reconstructions and eyelash extensions, among other beauty procedures.

Rachel said: “I am passionate about my career and clients. I absolutely want to thank all my clients, most of which have been with me for the last 18 years.

“They have pushed me and encouraged me to put myself forward. I also want to thank my family, who have had to miss out on so much time with me over the last 18 years while I was building my business.”

A spokesperson for The English Hair and Beauty Awards 2024, said: “It has been an unforgettable night, filled with incredible food, entertainment, vibrant energy, and passionate conversations.

“Winning an award in this prestigious competition is a significant achievement, as it acknowledges hair and beauty professionals' talent and hard work and sets a benchmark for others to follow. The winners of these awards represent the highest standards of quality and service in the English hair and beauty industry.

"We want to congratulate all of our winners and highly commended on their accomplishments.”
