One thousand people have used the new community hub at Ewood Park in the past six months.

Participants have been able to access a wide range of health and wellbeing services on a weekly basis, said the Blackburn Rovers Community Trust.

The hub is the first of its kind to be based within a professional football stadium in England.

The Community Trust said it has worked with more than 40 health-related community organisations, including the NHS, and promoted national awareness days linked to the hub’s activities.

In February, Blackburn Rovers Community Trust launched a ‘Wellbeing Wednesday’ social session, providing a chance for the general public to meet the wellbeing team as well as a range of practitioners on site each week.

Head of health and wellbeing at Blackburn Rovers Community Trust, Eddie Owen said: “We are delighted to see just how successful the Community Wellbeing Hub has been since its launch, which includes significant buy-in from likeminded organisations such as Blackburn with Darwen Council and the NHS.

“To be able to work alongside mental and physical health professionals at our Community Wellbeing Hub at Ewood Park and see participants benefit from that, truly is a proud moment for Blackburn Rovers Community Trust and we will continue to offer the best service possible for our community.”
