Update: Police confirmed just after 10am on Monday, April 1 that Zhiwar has been found safe and well.

A man wanted in connection with an assault on an emergency services worker could be trying to get into East Lancashire, police say.

Zhiwar Bahrami, 23, was last seen in Preston New Road, Blackpool, just after 9pm on Friday, March 29.

Bahrami, who is 5’8, speaks with a Kurdish accent and police say he may ask for directions to the nearest train or bus station as there is a “strong possibility he is attempting to get to East Lancashire, particularly Colne".

He was last seen near the Toby Carvery on Preston New Road wearing a plain grey tracksuit and white Nike trainers.

Police say he may be confused and are urging the public not to approach him. They are concerned for his welfare.

Bahrami is also wanted in connection with an investigation into an assault on an emergency services worker.

A police spokesperson said: “We would ask anyone with information on Zhiwar’s whereabouts or anyone with CCTV, doorbell, or dashcam footage which covers the Preston New Road area after 9pm yesterday to get in contact with police.”
