A man in his 90s was taken to hospital after being involved in a hit and run in Blackburn.

The man is said to have suffered a serious leg injury when the driver of a grey BMW 318d hit him in Audley Range at around 1.50pm yesterday (March 29).

The man remains in hospital while the driver of the BMW failed to stop at the scene and remains outstanding.

Officers are appealing for anyone who has information on the whereabouts of the driver to come forward.

They are also looking to hear from witnesses or anyone with dashcam, CCTV, or mobile phone footage capturing the BMW before or after the crash.

Sgt Pete Fayers, of the road policing unit, said: “This collision has left a pensioner seriously injured and my thoughts are with him and his loved ones at this time. I want to appeal directly to the driver of the BMW to do the right thing and make contact with the police straight away.”

Anyone with information or footage should email 3909@lancashire.police.uk or call 101, quoting log 670 of March 29, 2024.
