Northgate demolition, Blackburn, 1980
Here’s a photo we need your help with. The only details we have are that it was taken in February 1980.
We are pretty sure that it shows demolition work taking place on Northgate.
In the background on the left you can see the new town hall tower block and on the right, the distinctive white frontage of the shopping centre facing on to King William Street.
Do you remember when there was a decorating centre on Northgate? This appears to be the building being torn down.
