A cyclist suffered serious injuries following an early hours crash in Preston.
Emergency services were called at 12.52am today (28 March) to Golden Way, Penwortham, near to Liverpool Road, to reports of a crash involving a Ford C-Max car and a bicycle, both travelling in the direction of Preston.
The cyclist, a man in his 40s, suffered serious injuries and was taken to hospital.
Golden Way was closed for several hours as part of the investigation and has now reopened.
Sgt Martin Kavanagh, of Lancashire Police’s Road Policing Unit, said: “The cyclist suffered serious injuries and our thoughts are with him as he undergoes treatment in hospital.
“If anyone witnessed the collision or has dashcam footage from Golden Way around the time it happened, we ask you to contact police.”
