A man sent a person flying backwards after driving a heavy goods vehicle at them, a court has been told.

Martyn Clarke, 41, allegedly drove towards the member of the public following a confrontation.

Southampton Magistrates’ Court heard how Clark was dangerously driving the Scania lorry on the A337 Christchurch Road.

It is claimed by prosecutors that a clash with a member of the public ensued on the road before Clark drove the lorry at them and forcing them over – twice.

The incident happened on September 22 of last year in New Milton.

Clark, of Bishopsfield Road in Fareham, pleaded not guilty to one count of dangerous driving.

He will next appear at Southampton Crown Court on April 29.
