An Accrington-based international music event production company has celebrated a re-brand as the new stadium and front-of-shirt sponsors for Accrington Cricket Club.

The three-year sponsorship between iMEP and the club was announced at the newly named ‘iMEP Arena'.

The firm is also planning to host a music festival at the venue, with more details being revealed next month.

Accrington and England cricket legend, David ‘Bumble' Lloyd joined the club's Jimmy Hayhurst and CEO of iMEP Eddy O'Brien.

Mr Lloyd said: "It has been fantastic to be back at Accrington Cricket Club to make three new incredible announcements!

"We've seen iMEP named as the new arena naming sponsor and the front of shirt sponsor, while they're also planning a fabulous music festival for September. I'll definitely want to be back here for that one!"

The announcement comes on the back of a major re-brand at iMEP, formerly LS Music Studios, as they succeed on the international, music and theatre stage.

Offering everything from lighting, sound, staging and special effects, to fully managed music and theatre event production, iMEP regularly works with stars around the world including Peter Kay, Ed Sheeran, and Chris Brown.

The new partnership with Accrington Cricket Club represents iMEP's latest support for local sport, having already been unveiled as board sponsors at Accrington Stanley.

As part of the new deal, iMEP is also working on plans to host a music festival at Accrington Cricket Club in September, promising to bring an internationally acclaimed artist to the iMEP Arena to put Accrington on the map.

Eddy O'Brien, CEO of iMEP, said: "It's what we do, so we thought the ground was an ideal venue for a music festival and we hope to announce ticket details in April.

"We are absolutely delighted to have been named as arena and shirt sponsors at Accrington Cricket Club.

"As a local lad I am passionate about supporting and celebrating our local sports teams, and this is a great way to showcase that at what is a truly wonderful community club.

"This announcement has also been the perfect way to unveil our re-brand, a project which we are extremely excited about and proud of and gives us an International identity to be proud of."

Lancashire Telegraph:

Jon Hayhurst, Chair of Accrington Cricket Club, said: "We would like to say a massive thank you to everyone at iMEP for their incredible support on this three-year deal, it underpins our ambitions to be more than just a cricket venue with an exciting IMEP music festival planned for September.

"This sponsorship will go a long way to supporting our club and its ambitions for the future, and it is great to have an ambitious young company on board to go on that journey with us - the new shirts look fantastic!"

The recently refurbished clubhouse at Accrington Cricket Club, with a capacity of 80, is also available for hire, offering a warm and welcome environment for a wide range of functions such as birthdays, christenings, engagements and more.

The new terrace is now finished, having been supported by the local Accrington and Rossendale College construction students and Greengates Builders Merchants, who donated building materials.

Additionally, the clubhouse is well suited as a venue for local community groups to use for events such as meetings, teaching classrooms, yoga and keep fit classes, with access to a 75" HD TV screen, speakers and Wi-Fi.
