A boxer is flipping a 260kg tyre 10,000 times to help a woman with inoperable brain tumour.

Bill Hodgson is taking on the gruelling challenge after hearing of the plight of 26-year-old Jordan Copestake.

Bill was recently at the new Akbar's restaurant in Blackburn town centre where he met Shabir Hussain who is supporting the cause.

He will take on the challenged today (Friday) from 12pm at Preston Flag Market.

He said: “My first challenge was in lockdown. I just feel very very blessed to be able to help people who are not as fortunate as myself.

“Waking up every day and breathing and being healthy. I’m very blessed that way.”

A GoFundMe page has raised more than £2,500 of the £10,000 target to help Jordan.

The page says: "The tumour affecting Jordan has taken most of her sight, she only has 20 per cent in one eye now.

"She needs a wheelchair as walking tires her out and she gets out of breath.

"She had a biopsy in July 2021, which unfortunately led to a stroke at the same time, and radiotherapy and chemotherapy, but unfortunately this made her too ill to continue with chemotherapy.

"The consultant has found a treatment that might help get her off the steroids as these are causing problems with her mobility due to the increased weight she has gained as a side effect.

"Jordan had two rounds of the treatment last year and these have appeared to work as the swelling on and around her brain has reduced.

"We now have the amazing Bill Hodgson doing a 10,000 tyre flip. This is an amazing challenge which will really take some completing but we are sure he will do it."

Lancashire Telegraph:

Bill is managing director at Praetorian Security Solutions and in the past he raised £60,000 by pulling a Santa sleigh 26 miles between Fleetwood and Kirkham.

He also flipped a car for 24 hours, setting a new record in the process.
