A father and son from Blackburn are hoping to raise funds for an Islamic Education Centre.
Talib Akhtar and son Muhammad, who is just two-years-old will be scaling Pendle Hill on Sunday April 21 to help raise funds towards the renovations of the Dawat-e-Islami Education Centre on Granville Road.
Talib said: “We just wanted to do something that helps. It will also be great to do the walk together.
“The centre is really important to the local community and 300 madrasah children are studying for free and being taught by qualified teachers.
“The centre also hosts a range of events for people of all ages.
“The centre has reached full capacity and therefore expansion work is currently taking place.
“There are plans to increase the madrasah capacity to around 750 children.”
