*UPDATE: All lanes now reopened but there is still some congestion* 

There are delays of around 50 minutes on the M65 after a crash.

Lane two of the M65 westbound, near junction five at Guide, is closed due to the crash.

According to National Highways:North West, there are around three miles of traffic.

AA Traffic and Travel said there are “severe delays” of 48 minutes on M65 westbound between junction six, near the Whitebirk Roundabout, and junction four, near Earcroft Way.

A spokesperson for National Highways: North West said: “The M65 westbound within junction five, lane two is closed due to a collision. There is currently approximately three miles of congestion on approach, causing delays of 40 minutes above usual journey times.

A spokesperson for AA Traffic and Travel said: “One lane closed and queueing traffic due to crash on M65 Westbound at J5 A6077 (Guide / Shadsworth).

“Severe delays of 48 minutes and delays increasing on M65 westbound between J6 A6119 Whitebirk Drive (Blackburn / Whitebirk Roundabout) and J4 A666 Earcroft Way (Darwen / Blackburn South). Average speed five mph.”

In an update, issued at around 6.30pm, all lanes have now reopened but there is still one mile of congestion.
