Traffic is building on the A6 in Bamber Bridge after a crash.

According to AA Traffic and travel, the A6 southbound is partially blocked with queuing traffic.

Police say the crash involved three vehicles and was reported at around 3.37pm. No injuries have been reported.

This is affecting the stretch of road from B5257 to A582, Lostock Lane.

There are delays of around seven minutes and increasing.

A spokesperson for AA Traffic and Travel said: “A6 partially blocked and queueing traffic due to crash on A6 Southbound from B5257 to A582 Lostock Lane (Walton Fox roundabout).

“Delays of seven minutes and delays increasing on A6 Lostock Lane Southbound in Bamber Bridge. Average speed ten mph.”

The A6 was recently named as one of Lancashire's 'most deadly roads'. It is set to receive a share of almost £40 million in road safety improvement cash.

In Lancashire, the county's stretch of the A6 will receive funding; the road runs through Chorley, Clayton-Le-Woods, Bamber Bridge, through Preston and then onto Garstang, Forton, Lancaster and Morecambe before heading into Cumbria.
