Police have shut a section of a road after a crash involving three vehicles.

The incident happened earlier at around 6pm on Monday (March 18) on Johnston Street in Blackburn.

A black Vauxhall Vectra was travelling down Johnston Street when it clipped a parked car and hit a Kia which was joining the road.

The front of both vehicles were heavily damaged and wreckage was strewn across the road.

Residents had rushed out of their homes to help drivers and passengers from the vehicles. Witnesses at the scene said there did not appear to be anyone hurt following the crash.

The road was shut from Addison Street to Henrietta Street.
