*UPDATE: Andertons Way is now open*

There are traffic issues on the M6 this afternoon (March 7) after a crash in Preston.

A crash has been reported on Andertons Way which is causing issues to traffic flow in the area. It appears to be causing delays on the M6.

Motorists have been urged to find alternative routes.

According to AA Traffic and Travel, there are “severe delays” on the M6 northbound between junction 31, Preston New Road (Samlesbury) and junction 32 M55 (Broughton Interchange).

A spokesperson for AA Traffic and Travel said: “Partially blocked and queueing traffic due to crash on B6242 Andertons Way both ways between B6241 Eastway and the Anderton Arms Roundabout.

"Severe delays of 26 minutes and increasing on M6 northbound between J31, Preston New Road (Samlesbury) and J32 M55 (Broughton interchange). Average speed five mph.

“Delays of eight minutes on M55 eastbound between junction two, Preston Western Distributor, and M6 junction 32 (Broughton Interchange). Average speed ten mph.”

A police spokesperson said: "We are on scene at a road traffic collision on Andertons Way, Preston. This is causing some disruption to traffic flow in the area around Eastway and Andertons Way. If possible please find alternate routes. We hope have the road clear shortly."
