Paddy McGuinness made some bold claims on Capital FM saying he’d give a tour of Bolton to Hollywood actor Ryan Reynolds if the Wanderers ever played Wrexham A.F.C.

Bolton-born comedian and TV presenter Paddy was on Capital Breakfast this morning with hosts Roman Kemp, Chris Stark and Sian Welby.

Paddy revealed that should his beloved Bolton Wanderers ever face up against Ryan Reynolds-owned Wrexham A.F.C, he’d take the Hollywood A-lister out on a tour of Bolton, finishing off with an authentic, northern chippy tea.

Chris had asked Paddy if he had met Ryan Reynolds after the Bolton comedian said he was excited to see the new Deadpool.

Chris said: “He sort of runs in interesting circles, and I guess if Wrexham go up, or dare I say Bolton go down…”

Prompting Paddy to say he’d take the Hollywood A-lister on a tour of his hometown, Daubhill in Bolton.

He said: “Ooh, Bolton.

“You see, we’re narrowing things here, because I could talk about places in Bolton and your listeners will be like, ‘we have no idea what he’s on about.’ “Oh yeah, in Bolton I’d take him for a little tour of Daubhill. That’s where I’m from.”

Paddy then described his day with Ryan, joking that he would end the day at Olympus Chippy as well as Shiffnall Street.

He said: “I’d go up Daubhill, and there’s a lovely street called Shiffnall Street, I’d take him down there. I’m sure he’d enjoy himself.

“And then we’d finish off at the Olympus chippy in town. There’s a little bit of Bolton talk there.”

Paddy also teased that Roman Kemp’s next hosting gig could be bringing back ITV’s dating show Take Me Out after giving Roman a lovely tribute on him leaving the show.

He said: “I’ve heard a rumour he’s bringing back Take Me Out, which is an absolute travesty. I’m just saying that for clickbait.”
