A young boy was taken to hospital after being in a collision with a car in Blackburn.
Police closed a busy junction in Bastwell following the incident, in which a child, who was believed to have been crossing the road, collided with a car.
The junction at Whalley Range and Whalley New Road was shut on Sunday (March 3) at around 3.45pm.
Police cordoned off a large section of the roads in all four directions with drivers being warned to avoid the area.
The junction reopened shortly after and traffic returned to normal levels after being backed up down Maple Street, Plane Street and Whalley Range.
It is believed the child suffered minor injuries.
A spokesperson for Lancashire Police said: "We were called at 3.47pm on Sunday (March 3) to a report of a road traffic collision on Whalley New Road in Blackburn.
"Officers attended and found that a car had collided with a pedestrian.
"The pedestrian, a boy, was taken to hospital with minor injuries."
The police have not released any further information about any arrests or whether they are making further enquires into the incident or seeking any witnesses.
