She posted: “I have loved doing this project in collaboration with absolute talent that is Source Creative for Blackburn Museum, Discover Blackburn with Darwen and Blackburn with Darwen Council.

“The best bit for me of course was being able to look through the archives at all the photos of Blackburn over the years and seeing places where my family grew up and where my husband was born

“There are posters of different sizes, signed limited editions and postcards. All proceeds will be donated to the wonderful Blackburn Museum my favourite place in the town. These are available through my website.”

In 2021 she produced a set of murals for the shopping centre to reflect how Blackburn has responded to Covid-19.

The artwork was printed on to boarding and installed in the annexe to the shopping centre known as the "bike sheds" adjacent to Lord Street West.

Speaking of the latest artwork of Blackburn and Darwen, she said: “When I first moved to Blackburn years ago, I didn’t know my dads side of my family were from here.

"I thought it was Salford and I was born in Bury, so I think I just presumed we were all greater Manchester.

“I guess you don’t really take it in as a kid your family history. My grandparents started telling me stories of where they used to live, work, go to school, worship, go on dates etc, I have a whole history here and in the surrounding areas that goes back centuries.

“My maiden name is Holden - I have a family coat of arms in stained glass windows, prominent member of the community that had a brewery, a family butchers on Darwen street that’s now a funeral place, and even a family skull that has been passed down since the reformation, along with stories of lost treasure hidden on the banks of a river.

"There is so much history and so many stories and I had no idea about any of it when I moved to the town.

“I no longer live in the town, but love that I too have made part of my own history there.

“It’s where I met some of the best people, who some have become my closest and oldest friends. I met my husband there, it’s where my youngest daughter was born and it’s a place where the people made me feel like home.

"The people of Blackburn with Darwen are so friendly and it has such a sense of community."
