People wanting to find out more about jobs and career opportunities in the area are being urged to head down to King George’s Hall in Blackburn next week

Blackburn with Darwen Employment Skills and Support Hub is hosting a Jobs and Skills Fair, between 10am and 3pm on Wednesday, February 28.

Approximately 500 attendees are expected at the event, which is open to members of the public and Job Centre customers.

People will be able to connect with employers across diverse industries, receive assistance in crafting an impressive CV, participate in mock interviews, apply for live vacancies and take part in workshops designed to enhance knowledge and understanding of the job-seeking process.

There will be a number of stalls from businesses and organisations ranging across the public, private and voluntary sectors with local employers being at the forefront.

Some of the firms and organisations attending the event include: Blackburn Youth Zone, The Mall, Blackburn Rovers Community Trust, East Lancashire Hospitals Trust, Bracebridge Care Group, Transdev, Utilita, Reel Cinema, Blackburn College, Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service and much more.

Executive member for growth and development, Councillor Quesir Mahmood, said: "Attending the jobs fair offers the unique opportunity to meet employers face-to-face and receive support in completing applications for job vacancies.
