Two lanes of the M6 closed this morning (February 22).
Lane two and three were closed on the M6 northbound between junction 28 and junction 29.
This was due to a carriageway defect. A team was sent to make repairs to the road surface.
The road was closed for around an hour. All lanes have since reopened.
A spokesperson for National Highways said: “Lanes two and three (of three) are closed on the M6 northbound between J28 (Leyland) and J29 (M65) due to a carriageway defect. A team is en route to make repairs to the road surface. Please allow extra journey time if in the area this morning.
“Repairs are complete to the carriageway defect and all lanes have re-opened on the M6 northbound between J28 (Leyland) and J29 (M65). Thank you for your patience, please have a safe onward journey.”
