Residents in Pendle are being asked to have their say on masterplans for Colne, Barnoldswick and Earby.

Last year residents were given the opportunity to attend workshops to consider the draft masterplans and express their opinions and ideas.

Views were taken onboard by placed an independent engagement team employed by the Council and the drafts have been updated.

Residents can now view the updated masterplans for each of the towns and complete an online survey with any further suggestions. They only have until Monday, March 11, to do so.

The masterplans are long-term projects which will guide future regeneration in Colne, Barnoldswick and Earby over the next 10 to 15 years.

Each masterplan will create an individual vision for the town and its residents on how to best transform what the town centres already offer.

Leader of Pendle Council, Councillor Asjad Mahmood said: “Colne, Barnoldswick and Earby have not had masterplans before, so this is a fantastic opportunity to create ambitious visions for their future, which we hope will boost new investment and development in the towns.

“They will focus on employment opportunities, retail, leisure, housing, healthcare and community facilities; as well as address climate change and protecting the natural environment.

“Input from residents and businesses means we can shape the towns the way they want us to - and we look forward to hearing their views.”

Director of place for Pendle Council, Phillip Spurr, added: “Understanding local people’s priorities is hugely important to us, so please tell us what you think a masterplan for your town should include.”
