A couple who won a staggering £61m on the EuroMillions lottery have revealed just some of the items they bought following the win.

Richard and Debbie Nuttall, both 54, from Colne scooped a £61,708,231 share of the £123million jackpot prize from the draw on January 30 – with the other winning ticket having been bought in Spain.

The National Lottery presented the winners of the jackpot today at a press event at Mitton Hall Hotel in the Ribble Valley.

One of the first questions on everyone’s lips was: ‘Have you bought anything?’

Their first purchases since the win have been new clubs for keen golfer Richard, a £300 hairdryer and 1,200 thread-count cotton luxury bedding.

Richard has also brought a brand-new BMW X5, which was selected for its extra-large boot, big enough to transport his golf clubs.

Speaking today Richard said: “I am big into golf so I bought a set of golf clubs.

“Then we bought cotton bedsheets.”

Richard said they had been thinking of downsizing their home and had looked at a bungalow.

He also revealed it was ‘good to get the story out there’ when asked about being the centre of the attention.

He said: “We thought about staying private and the news was going to leak anyway and it would have been a completely different story."

He also added that “friends and family will be taken care of.”

Debbie has handed her notice in at her civil engineering job and self-employed accountant Richard said he would carry on working until the end of the tax year.

“I have told some of my clients I will work till the end of the tax year. There are a lot of payrolls. In fact I was doing some this week.

“People have got to get paid. It does not matter what your situation is. So I said I will work till the end of March.”
