A man has been arrested after police stopped a car on the M65 in Darwen.
On Monday (February 19) police stopped and searched a black Audi A6.
Officers found £9,000 in cash. A further £3,500 in cash at the driver’s home address following a search.
A 36-year-old man, from Nelson, was arrested on suspicion of money laundering.
He has since been released under investigation.
A police spokesperson said: “On Monday we stopped and searched a black Audi A6 on the M65 at Darwen and found £9,000 cash, with a further £3,500 cash found at the driver’s home address following a search.
“The driver, a 36-year-old man from Nelson, was arrested on suspicion of money laundering. He has since been released under investigation.”
