This view along Northgate in Blackburn from 1985 includes, some of the most fondly remembered businesses in the town.
First there was the Refreshment Bar which is still in existence today and next door was Mercer’s where many a Blackburn child got their toys from and many parents got their ironmongery.
Above the shops on the left you can also signs for Alan Rene hairdressers, another well-known name.
Do you recall other Blackburn town centre shops and businesses you would make a beeline for?
