An arrest has been made after police received reports of a suspicious man in an area of Darwen.
Just after midnight today (February 19) police received reports from Birch Hall Avenue that a man wearing a red coat had been seen looking into parked vehicles in the area.
A man was later found and searched. Police found “a number of items belonging to several people”.
People have been asked to get in touch with police if they believe their vehicle has been broken into.
A police spokesperson said: “Shortly after midnight on Monday, February 19 officers were in the area of Birch Hall Avenue, Darwen where reports were received that a male wearing a red coat had been witnessed looking into parked vehicle in the area.
“Officers have located a male and following a stop search he was found in possession of a number of items belonging to several people. If you believe your vehicle has been interfered with or you've had property stolen please contact Lancashire Police on 101 and quote reference number LC-20240218-1444.”
