There have been reports of a man trying car door handles of vehicles on driveways in Blackburn, police said. 

Blackburn and Darwen Police received multiple reports of a suspect attempting to pull car door handles this morning (Tuesday, February 13).

The incident occurred at around 1am to 2am on driveways in Roman Road, Roman Terrace, George Dewhurst Way in Blackburn.

Officers told the residents to remember not to leave valuables on display and keep vehicles locked and secure.

The police provided CCTV footage of a suspect from the driveways.

A spokesperson for Blackburn and Darwen Police said: "Please can residents around the Roman Road, Roman Terrace, George Dewhurst Way of Blackburn be aware that during the hours of am to 2am this morning on February 13, that a male has tried numerous vehicles.

"Several calls have been made to us that a male has been seen trying car door handles on driveways.

"If you believe that your car has been entered, please log the incident on The Lancashire Constabulary website or you can call 101.

"If you have CCTV or doorbell footage you can email the BlackburnSW.NPT@lancashire.police.uk team.

"Please try and remember not to leave valuables on display and keep vehicles locked and secure."
