Royal watchers on Bolton Road, Blackburn, 1968
You can sense the excitement in the air in this photo from May 1968.
Hundreds of schoolchildren lined Bolton Road in Blackburn to cheer the Queen as she was driven from Darwen to Blackburn as part of a royal visit.
If the Royal Infirmary sign didn’t tell you where exactly on Bolton Road there were, the nurses in uniform all lined up behind the children probably would.
