Police say a motorist who drove their vehicle at 110mph on a Lancashire motorway was "too drunk to notice" the police car they overtook.

The driver of the Renault Megane overtook the fully liveried police Volvo V90 on the M55 last night (February 11) which led to them being stopped and arrested.

The car was seized as the driver's licence had been revoked.

A police spokesperson said: "The driver of this Renault was too drunk to notice the fully liveried police Volvo V90 they overtook at 110mph on the M55 this evening.

"They were stopped and arrested for various offences and the car seized under 165 as their driving licence had been revoked."
