Next week it’s time to get out the flour, eggs and milk and celebrate a great British tradition.
Yes, next Tuesday it’s Shrove Tuesday, the final day before the start of Lent.
To mark the occasion, we have been back into the archives to dig out a few photos of Pancake Day fun from years gone by.
It was clearly a much bigger deal back in the Eighties when special pancake races were held in Blackburn town centre attracting teams from colleges and organisations.
Fancy dress appears to have been the order of the day for many of them too.
