The police has issued warnings about two roads in Burnley as ice and snow cause travel disruption.
Manchester Road and Rossendale Road are described as "barely passable" due to the wintry conditions.
Officers have urged motorists to find alternative routes or avoid the area
A police spokesperson said: “Please be advised Manchester Road, Burnley and Rossendale Road, Burnley are currently barely passable due to snow and ice.
“Please take alternative routes and avoid the area.”
According to the Met Office, a yellow warning for snow is in force until 6am on Friday.
Temperatures are set to plummet to 1 degree Celsius as a band of sleet and snow hits the region.
Blackburn with Darwen council said primary and secondary gritting routes were treated from 6pm yesterday at the maximum spread rate.
The council roads team posted on Wednesday: "This is to start preparing the road network for a drop in temperatures around and 7pm the snow, which is forecast to hit around 6am to the higher routes and 7am to the lower routes."
The council a total of 454 Salt Bins have now been refilled as part of the batch refill, which started on 16 January and was completed on 2 February.
