A man has been arrested as police investigate reports of a rape in Burnley.
A 29-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of rape. He remains in custody.
Police were called to Colne Road, near to Sainsbury’s in Burnley, on January 29 to reports that a 17-year-old girl was raped.
They have since released appeals as part of their investigation.
A police spokesperson said: “Over the weekend, and yesterday, we asked for your help identifying a man we wanted to speak to in connection with the rape of a 17-year-old girl in Burnley.
“This afternoon, a 29-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of rape. He remains in custody.
“We want to thank you for your support and for sharing the appeal.”
