A multi-vehicle crash stopped traffic coming out of Blackburn this morning.

At around 10am on Tuesday, February 7, a bus heading down Preston New Road, out of Blackburn, was involved in a crash with at least two other cars.

Pictures taken from the scene show the aftermath of the crash, with one car placed on a recovery vehicle to be towed away, and two other damaged vehicles moved to the left hand carriageway to allow traffic to continue towards Preston.

Although the circumstances of how the crash occurred are not clear, it appears that one vehicle has crashed head-on into the back of the bus, causing damage to the driver's side rear wheel and the rear bumper.

Another vehicle, which is thought to have been travelling ahead of the bus, was also damaged.

It is not known if anyone was injured as a result of the crash but police were in attendance and it is believed that all passengers travelling on the bus were removed and alternative transport provided.
