A detective from Lancashire Police has been sacked for drink driving.
DC Postlethwaite, whose collar number was 3770, attended a misconduct hearing at Lancashire Constabulary’s Hutton headquarters on January 24.
During the hearing, chaired by Chief Constable Chris Rowley, he considered allegations against DC Postlethwaite in relation to a drink driving offence committed last year, to which DC Postlethwaite pleaded guilty on July 24.
As a result of the hearing, Chief Constable Rowley found DC Postlethwaite breached the Standards of Professional Behaviour in terms of discreditable conduct, and his actions amounted to gross misconduct.
A notice from the misconduct hearing read: “It was alleged DC 3770 Postlethwaite drove the vehicle on a road or other public place whilst over the prescribed limit and on July 24, 2023, pleaded guilty to the charge.
“The chair found the conduct breached the Standards of Professional Behaviour, namely discreditable conduct and amounted to gross misconduct.”
As of January 24, DC Postlethwaite, who is believed to have worked in Accrington during his career, was dismissed without notice and he will now be included on the police barred list.
