A Blackburn beauty salon has been shortlisted as a finalist at The Official UK Hair and Beauty Awards.

Chantelle Louise Beauty Academy, in King's Road, announced its nomination in the 'Education Excellence' and 'Beauty Therapist of the Year' categories.

Chantelle Baldwin, owner of the Beauty Academy, has been in the nail and beauty business for 15 years, and qualified as an educator two years ago.

She said: “This is a proud moment for me, after 15 years in the industry to receive this recognition is a dream come true for me!

"Offering fully accredited Nail and Beauty courses offering lifetime support beyond my students completion of their training courses is something I am proud to offer.

"My beauty academy offers courses ranging from beginner fast track courses to refresher and skill building courses for people who just want to build their confidence and knowledge.”

The UK Hair and Beauty Awards community come together each year to celebrate the hair and beauty industry in style, which contributes £4.4 billion to the UK economy each year and continues to grow both in size and in revenue.

The annual VIP Red Carpet event is a lavish experience with celebrity guests, hosts and entertainment, and can only be attended by invitation only.

The UK Hair and Beauty Awards mission is to support businesses of all sizes, and expose all candidates to new opportunities via social media and in the hair and beauty world, no matter their financial or social status.

The aims of the awards are to break down barriers to support smaller industry businesses, while helping contestants build followings and recognition, even if they don’t win a prize at the ceremony.
