A stylish new coffee shop has opened opposite the bus station in Blackburn town centre.

Coffeepedia takes over the location of the former Costa Coffee shop which closed three years ago.

The unit has been empty ever since and has undergone an £80,000 renovation ahead of the opening of the new shop on the pedestrianised section of Ainsworth Street.

The coffee shop is located next to the Pure Gym site and the former Greggs.

Zaka Ullah one of the partners who has launched the shop said the team were hoping to benefit from the footfall and the location.

“When we took over the place was a shell and we had to bring it back to life", Zaka said.

“We have new furniture and washrooms installed with original Coffeepedia wall arts and designs.

“The new store has been renovated from the inside and can cater for up to 50 customers.

“It is a good location right opposite the bus station and next to the Pure Gym. So, we are hoping to have a lot of footfall.”

Lancashire Telegraph:

The Coffeepedia brand is a new concept born in Blackburn. The menu features a range of hot and cold drinks, wraps, sausage rolls, pasties and desserts.

He said: “The brand and drinks we serves are a little different to what people will be used to.

“We wanted to create something unique and serve up our speciality coffee.

"We also have our natural flavoured Gelato sticks that you can’t get anywhere else locally.

“The shop opened on January 29 and in the first week we have had good interest from passers by and others who are finding out more about us.

“We are open from 7am until 6pm seven days a week. We may extend opening times and will see how it goes.”

The former Costa Coffee shop at the location opened in 2017 but closed during the Covid pandemic.
