Plans have been submitted for a major upgrade and expansion of a travellers' caravan site in Accrington.
According to the plans, owner Dean Price is looking to provide an extra six pitches on the site, while also constructing a new manager's detached bungalow and day room building for the residents.
The proposal to remodel the Sunnydale Caravan Park in Charter Street has been submitted to Hyndburn Council.
Mr Price's agent, Mike Carr of MAT Design Limited in St Helens, said: "This would be a major upgrade to the site which currently has 15 pitches.
"The site has been a shambles.
"There has been a huge amount of investment in it by Mr Price. This proposal would be a major improvement.
"There would be an increase in the number of pitches.
"The detached bungalow would be for a manager and probably occupied by Mr Price.
"The day room building would be for residents' use. Everybody deserves somewhere to live.
"The modest expansion would contribute to Hyndburn Council's requirement for gypsy and travellers' pitches."
A Lancashire County Council comment on the planning application said: "The application seeks approval for the increase in pitches from 15 to 21 and a new bungalow and day room.
"There are no changes proposed to the existing access on Charter Street and none are considered necessary.
"All pitches have designated parking spaces and there is sufficient space within the site for vehicles to enter, turn and exit onto Charter Street in forward gear.
"Lancashire County Council acting as the Highway Authority does not raise an objection regarding the proposed development and are of the opinion that the proposed development will not have a significant impact on highway safety, capacity or amenity in the immediate vicinity of the site."
The proposed bungalow would have two bedrooms, a kitchen/diner and a lounge.
The day room building would have bathroom, toilets, utility room and lounge.
