A teenager has appeared before Blackburn Magistrates charged in connection with a stabbing incident in Burnley.
Kyle Kaylor, 19, of Cog Lane, Burnley, was sent in custody to Burnley Crown Court charged with attempting to cause grievous bodily harm and possession of a knife in Hargher Clough Park last Saturday afternoon (January 20).
He will appear at the crown court on February 20 for a plea and trial preparation hearing.
Nicola Mills, prosecuting, said the alleged victim was standing at a bus stop when he saw a friend being chased by another man.
He interceded and was confronted by a man carrying a knife.
During the incident that followed he is alleged to have suffered a cut to his ear and the knife was plunged through three layers of clothing towards his chest without causing further injury.
