Lancashire Telegraph: Pickup Bank festival, 1981

The festival - billed as a successor to the legendary Deeply Vale festival - went ahead in spite of council objections and various injunctions to try and stop it.

Contemporary reports reveal that drugs were freely available and the whole event had a hippy vibe with festivalgoers relying on streams for water and trenches being dug for toilets.

If you went and can remember it we’d love to hear more. Who was playing at the festival? Any famous names? Email or leave a comment
