A driver has been arrested after testing positive for cannabis, having no insurance and a bald tyre on their van.

Lancashire Police stopped the white Ford Transit van after they reported smelling cannabis on the night of Wednesday, January 17.

The driver tested positive for cannabis, but the search on the van was negative.

The driver was arrested, the van was issued with immediate prohibition and seized.

A spokesperson for Lancashire Police said: "Overnight in a cold Lancaster, police stopped this.

"The distinct aroma within unsurprisingly led to the driver testing positive for cannabis.

"A search was negative but the van was also found to be uninsured with a bald tyre.

"Driver arrested, van issued immediate prohibition and seized."
