Some Blackburn train services have been cancelled today (January 18), according to Northern.

Trains between Bolton and Blackburn have been cancelled.

This is due to a points failure, which is where one of the sections of track at a junction that lets trains move from one line to another has broken.

An update will be issued when services resume.

A spokesperson for Northern said: “Due to a points failure between Bolton and Blackburn train services running through these stations will be cancelled.

"Network Rail staff are en route to the location.”
