Rock legends Liam Gallagher and John Squire filmed their new track at East Lancashire Railway (ELR).

The former Oasis frontman and Stone Roses guitarist teamed up to shoot the video for their debut single 'Just Another Rainbow' at the heritage railway.

Footage shows the pair perform their new track – which was released on January 5 - in a railway tunnel at the site in Bury, on December 13.

Mike Kelly, from ELR, said: “As local lads, Liam and John know their support to the heritage railway will make an incredible impact and is greatly appreciated by all the volunteers and staff at ELR.

Lancashire Telegraph: “The atmospheric location of the tunnel with the two-carriage Class 144 Pacer was a perfect fit for the coming together of two icons.”

The video was produced by Jack Hartley and Lewis Nicholson, who are both from local production company Antfarm Film Services.

The video starts with Liam strolling down the tunnel in a poncho before leading John and a backing band through a live performance in front of the historic train.

The silhouette of a two-carriage Class 144 Pacer behind them was used to create a colourful, dream-like atmosphere and was retired recently from the national network.

ELR’s latest acquisition has also featured in a BBC One drama, Netflix’s Sherwood, and Channel 5 show Compulsion.

Lancashire Telegraph: The Pacer served as a commuter train for services within the north of England before retiring to the ELR.

The Pacer will also steal the limelight at the Diesel Multiple Unit Gala which will be hosted at ELR in November.

Tickets are available on the ELR website.
