A train was damaged when it was "bricked" as it passed through Darwen, police have confirmed.
The outer skin of the window was damaged when the object was thrown at the train, said a statement from the British Transport Police (BTP).
Officers confirmed in a post on X that no injuries were reported.
A spokesperson for BTP said: "Officers were made aware of an incident of a brick being thrown at a train going through Darwen just before 1pm on Monday (January 15).
"The investigation has been filed pending further investigation."
